The setting is 1955, Cleveland, Ohio.
Shattered Glass is the story of Helen Wells, a talented young artist who has lost the use of her legs due to polio. She has recently lost her parents in a tragic car accident, and she lives with her uncle, who is a police officer. Her life begins to change when Stephen Austra moves in next door to begin renovations on the stained glass windows of the local church. He is almost disturbingly attractive, and everyone is captivated by Stephen, but Helen is drawn to their mysterious neighbor on a deeper level...
When bodies start to turn up drained of blood, her uncle is baffled as clues all point to the unbelievable conclusion that the killer may be more than human...worse so, that the man who is beginning to look like Helen's savior may be a suspect, and possibly a vampire!
The conclusion of Shattered Glass is bloody enough for any horror fan to appreciate, and it keeps you on edge until the very end. You'll have a hard time putting this one down, and will be eager to read the other two books in the series.
The series in order:
Shattered Glass
Blood Alone
Blood Rites
"Nest" (working title, not yet finished)
