When you think of comics, do images of Super/Spider/Batman saving the day come to mind? Do you think that the only women in comics are busty, helpless damsels or scantily-clad super-babes? The world of comics is actually inhabited by a wide variety of cool women and girls, some of whom might be a lot like you! This page will intoduce you to some of these women, from Ariel Schrag, to Richard Dirt, to Marlys and Maybonne. We've also included a history of women in comics, from Betty and Veronica (Archie Comics) to Enid and Rebecca (Ghost World.)   • Fantagraphics Comics- Home of Jessica Abel and Dame Darcy, also Daniel Clowes and the Hernandez brothers. Includes bios, examples of work, and links to the artists' websites.
  • Slave Labor Graphics Publishing- Home of Ariel Schrag, Sarah Dyer, and other female comic artists. Includes an extensive webstore, interviews, and information about the comics industry.
  • Friends of Lulu- A national organization to encourage female readership of comics. Incluse a reccomended reading list and a directory of women doing comics.
  • Grrls in the Comix- A site dedicated to superhero grrls in comics, including, Tank Girl, Barb Wire, Wonder Woman, and others. Also included is a list of readings pertaining to women in comics.
  • Sequential Tart- A webzine about comics, published and edited by women. Includes interviews and articles with women and men in the comics industry.
