Sign-language Storytime
Begin by reading through ABC sign language books such as A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh's ABC and Laura Rankin's The Handmade Alphabet. Make sure each child has enough time to figure out the form of the letters. Practice several times, using the signs while reading aloud. End with a song told through sign language.
Welcome Sign
Malka Drucker's A Jewish Holiday ABC discusses aspects of Jewish holidays. Make a welcoming Shalom sign to hang on the door using paint and a thin piece of wood or poster board and markers.
